OUR VISION FOR WISEHOPEA Benevolence Tracking SoftwareIt is rare that a name can speak volumes of a product and evoke emotions of such depth but when combining the words wise and hope one should anticipate nothing less. After falling and breaking his neck while riding a horse, the legendary actor of the Superman films, Christopher Reeve once said, “Once you choose hope, anything’s possible.” Isn’t that what we really want to inspire in the masses of souls who need our help: Hope that comes from our own recognition of God’s grace and benevolence? To accomplish this, we must too acquire wisdom so that we can best minister to the needy. The book of Acts 20, verse 35 tells us, In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Thus, WiseHope was born. This software was developed to better minister to the truly needy while utilizing current technology to accomplish the task. Just as the people of our communities have sought our charity and grace, our team concurrently recognized a need within our benevolence ministries to better coordinate the endeavor. This need gave rise to a software product that could quickly and simply identify specific needs from within a network of churches and benevolence foundations all using this same software. This common ground allows for the sharing of information about pantries across the country with an excess of green beans or blankets and its counterpart of a community’s need for assistance after a natural disaster. By contrast, the network between the various benevolence organizations will also facilitate the communication necessary in recognizing the unfortunate truths regarding individuals who seek to abuse or undermine the system. Our development process didn’t follow the norm of an uninvolved and impersonal Research and Development department working on a new software product to sell, but rather, real people listening to benevolence leaders lament about the feelings of disappointment surrounding their charitable program’s accountability. This concern coupled with a true desire of our developers to use their passions and talents to “solve the problem” is the heartfelt genesis behind this software. What is it that our benevolence agencies are missing? It is most certainly not a matter of numbers. There are thousands upon thousands or organizations with multitudes of generous patrons willing and ready to lend a hand up. Likewise, there is no lack of individuals in need. It is plainly but profoundly clear that even at the most nationally recognized assistance organizations, the communication and coordination procedure, not within but specifically between these agencies, is deficient. We believe that the potential for this product to improve the process of “giving” is boundless. Imagine if you will the unlimited ability to share real-time information regarding an individual need instantly and to do so in a manner by which you utilize as many resources as available. Time is always of the essence when considering the urgent nature of an appeal for help. Distance is no longer an issue and stringent affiliations become less important as each benevolence organization becomes part of a bigger circle, a web of information technology….the network of WiseHope. |
